CANNABIS SATIVA

WHEN LOOKING AT CANNABIS PLANT LEAVES

Cannabis plant leaves represent genetics. For instance pure Indica’s have 3 to 5 finger leaves. Mostly Indica, has 3 to 7 fingers, usually no more than 7.

Pure Sativa has 7 ore more, even up to 13 fingers. Mostly Sativa has 7 or more. Remember that Cannabis are Hybrid, no matter what the leaf configuration is. It is never a 100% accurate way of telling the variety dominance, but it can give you a good idea if you have a Cannabis strain that is unknown to you.

Indica’s are usually dark, green and have shorter spaces between internodes (the spaces that divide branches and leaf stems) and mature quicker.

Sativa’s are long, lanky, grow fast , and are usually a light green color due to it being from places where sun light is very intense. Because of this it produces more of a pigment that gives the plant the ability to protect itself.

For the most part Sativa’s take an average of 10 – 12 weeks to finish flowering, from the time you induce flowering. Indica’s take 6 – 8 weeks. But the biggest difference is in the highs or stimulations. Sativa’s are more cerebral and energetic, where as Indica’s are stoney, lazy, and sedative. However, this is not true for all Cannabis. Remember, Cannabis is a very diverse plant that has made liars out of many people.
